I'm trying to improve my digital art style, because I want to be good in both worlds of art (digital and traditional). Did you color your dogs first, then do the outlining? I love your style, and Dezzoi's :3 along with another artist named K9Jerold (gosh I hope I got that username right).

This is the image that made me realize why I love your artwork so much. I had a favorite book when I was growing up about different dogs and puppies and why their families loved them sooo much. Your style reminds me very much of the style in that book it brings back wonderful memories and the drawings in that story were one of the main reasons I wanted to draw so much. I dunno, this is kind of a weird comment I guess. Just wanted to say I loove your work and your style is just amazing. Best wishes~
Cute! I love big ol argus, and then goofy puppy Roy with his gangly pup anatomy staring up in wonder haha SO cute ! <3 Argus looks like he's saying, WTF is THAT thing too, that makes it that much better haha
this is very lovely and your characters are so neat their expressions are so sweet you can really tell what they're feeling little Roy's happiness and what almost looks like pride of Argus and Argus's apparent bewilderment and that shading <33 you are a true master at lighting and mood setting
It's like me with you! xD Obviously, I'm Roy. LOVE the floppy ear. What IS it with me and floppy ears on Corgis? Bet Argus didn't even know what to do with Roy when he was younger...and this cute. Love the lighting. Do you use gradient shading and coloring for that effect?
Lmao! I don't mind being Argus. Floppy ears are adorable, especially on corgis.
Yeah, I imagine Argus really confused because he seems SO single and doesn't know how to interact with kids, well puppies in this case. But he promised Roy's father, he'd never let anything happen to Roy and he lives up to his word. :>
I shade by selecting the whole colored layer, then add a new layer on top of that and fill in the selected area with whatever color I want the shading to be. Then I select the areas where I don't want the shading to touch with the lasso tool, then erase. Then when I finish all that, I lower the opacity on the shading layer to about 40-60%. :3
So funny. Bet Argus had a real hard time adjusting xD
You want to do what with what? Why would you want to do that?! Dogs have no reason to run after rubber toys! - Argus I can't imagine the big burly Kangal guarding dog understanding silly Corgi youngster antics. Ahhh the possibilities
That is a unique way to shade! Thank you! I've found that for me, taking away darks rather than adding them works so much better. Think I'll try that gradient method! Thank you for the advice!
I haven't seen you guys draw dogs in a while! I've missed them! It I wasn't so busy inking and drawing MLP, I would totally get some cel-shading of my characters done! Maybe I'll commission you guys sometime ~
Aw, that's so adorable. <3 I love you and your twin's characters. They're all just so awesome and interesting! I like how each of them has their own story to tell, only I don't really know the name of yours yet. Dezzoi's is called Resolute, but I don't know yours yet. Have you found a name for your story? I'm just curious.
Thanks you, very much appreciated! I actually haven't got a name for it. The whole story needs a LOT of work and has a long way to go. I have a basic, very basic, story line for it, but I still need to fill it in more.
